MI RICORDO • 2016-2024

A series of 12-foot by 5-foot watercolor/ink paintings produced at the American Academy in Rome in the Visiting Artists and Scholars program capture iconic images from the films of Italian directors Federico Fellini, Pier Paolo Pasolini, and Paolo Sorrentino. These are accompanied by short [one to two minute] videos by author and essayist, Francis Levy.

Francis Levy speaks to the history and meaning of Cy Twombly and Robert Rauschenberg's famous collaboration, the Aracoeli Steps, modernism, Kierkegaard and Yeats. Painting detail by Hallie Cohen.
